Amazon is a race of warrior women, Amazon is a huge online bookstore.

Apollo is the god of music, Apollo Theater is a famous music hall in New York City.

I recently read the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

These are some good examples of sentences in the book.

Complex Sentence:  The result was Panem, a shining Capitol ringed by thirteen districts, which brought peace and prosperity to its citizens.  Pg. 18

Simple Sentence:  Then something unexpected happens.  Pg. 24

These are some good sentence examples from Octotber Sky.

Compound Sentence:  Brother Jim usually got bored and asked to be excused, but I always stayed, fascinated by their tales. Pg. 6

The Hunger Games Book Review

    Set in the ruins of the future of North America, The Hunger Games tells a story about the hunger games, a twenty-four person free for all where “Winning means fame and fortune.  Losing means certain death.”  Suzanna Collins tells the story of Katniss Everdeen who is one of the hunger games contestants from district 12.  Katniss is afraid of the other contestants.  She is stuck in the arena with twenty-three people who have one common goal, her death.
    Because this book was interesting, I enjoyed reading it.  It was slow in the beginning because it was just explaining the setting.  It was exciting in the middle because that  is when she enters the hunger games and it has the outcome of the story.

Abraham Lincoln served as the 16th President of the U.S.  He was President from 1861 until he was assassinated in 1865.  Abraham Lincoln said this quote because he thought rules shouldn’t be so rigid.  He thought that rigid rules would lead to the destruction of order.  This quote means rules sometimes need exceptions.
